Upcoming Event: Stanford GSB Chapter of Hong Kong
Event Details: The Experiences and Community Committee of the Stanford GSB Chapter of Hong Kong is pleased to invite Alumni to an evening of music with the Hong Kong Philharmonic. The program for the evening could be described as equal parts eclectic and introspective, featuring Leonard Bernstein’s Plato-inspired ‘Serenade’ (with violin soloist James Ehnes), Charles Ives’ evocative ‘Central Park in the Dark’, and the incredibly lush Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 for Organ (with organist Leo van Doeselaar). The organ symphony in particular will be a special treat – the Hong Kong Cultural Centre features the largest pipe organ in the region, and for those that have never heard a full-sized organ live, it’s a moving experience. Please sign up soon as seats are limited. Participants will have the option of meeting for pre-concert drinks or attending a pre-concert lecture by musicologist, Dr. Maureen Buja (details to follow separately for those who sign up). Please refer to the website of the Hong Kong Philharmonic for more details: http://www.hkphil.org/eng/concerts_and_ticket/concerts/concertdetail.jsp?id=629 As always, please visit our homepage and Facebook page (CLICK HERE) to stay in touch with your Chapter and your Community. |
